Galway Oyster Festival

For four days of gourmet seafood, live music and great craic, make your way to the 55th Annual Galway Oyster Festival at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa! From Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th September, thousands of people from every corner of the world will flock to Galway to celebrate the oyster, a delicacy renowned for its delicious taste, nutritional value and mythical aphrodisiac properties.  

The festivities will begin at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa on Friday 25th September with a Magnificent Mardi Gras Party, where live jazz music will set the tone for the champagne, Guinness and oyster reception. The Oyster Festival’s ‘Pearl’ will be in attendance as well as the traditional Guest of Honour and the Mayor of Galway. Tickets are €125 for an evening of non-stop entertainment, featuring top class artists and cabaret acts!  

 The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa is again the place to be on Saturday afternoon, with oyster tasting, the Guinness World Oyster Opening Championship, the Elegant Lady Competition and the announcement of the Guinness World Oyster Opening Champion! Tickets for the afternoon are €55 per person.  

 Finally on Sunday 27th September the Farewell Party will take place in the Festival Centre – the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa – with tickets for the event available for €20. The event will finish an action-packed weekend, and includes great live music to bid farewell to the 2009 Galway Oyster Festival.          

  The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Galway has fantastic value overnight rates including Super Buffet Breakfast over the four days of the 2009 Galway Oyster Festival, with rates from €70 per person sharing on Thursday 24th September, from €100 per person sharing on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th and from €70 per person sharing on Sunday 27th September.
